I Am Not Thankful For Homeless Drunks & Druggies

Posted by mikenopolis on November 27, 2008

This season is known as the time for giving and many people are in better moods and are more generous. I had to do a little bit of last minute thanksgiving shopping last night at a grocery store and gave a homeless guy a $5 bill, I did my shopping and got in line to pay and saw him in line in front of me.

Handwriting Analysis

Posted by mikenopolis on November 13, 2008

Ever wonder if handwriting analysis works? A friend of mine sent me this site http://handwritingwizard.com that supposedly analyzes your personality after asking you 10 or so questions in regards to your handwriting.

Can’t say I agree with everything, but it seems pretty accurate except:

  • I finish everything I start, I don’t quit, especially when there’s Google and “nerdy” friends.
  • I do dwell on the past a lot, who can blame me, life was easier before “adulthood” and “responsibilities”

For anyone who’s interested, here’s mine!

Welcome Mike Nopolis, here is your handwriting analysis.Mike is moderately outgoing. His emotions are stirred by sympathy and heart rendering stories. In fact, he can be kind, friendly, affectionate and considerate of others. He has the ability to put himself into the other person’s shoes.

Mike will be somewhat moody, with highs and lows. Sometimes he will be happy, the next day he might be sad. He has the unique ability to get along equally well with what psychology calls introverts and extroverts. This is because he is in between. Psychology calls Mike an ambivert. He understands the needs of both types. Although they get along, he will not tolerate anyone that is too “far out.” He doesn’t sway too far one way or the other.

When convincing him to buy a product or an idea, a heart rendering story could mean a great deal to him. He puts himself in the same situation as the person in the story, yet he will not buy anything that seems overly impractical or illogical. Mike is an expressive person. He outwardly shows his emotions. He may even show traces of tears when hearing a sad story.

Mike is a “middle-of-the-roader,” politically as well as logically. He weighs both sides of an issue, sits on the fence, and then will decide when he finally has to. He basically doesn’t relate to any far out ideas and usually won’t go to the extreme on any issue.

People that write their letters in an average height and average size are moderate in their ability to interact socially. According to the data input, Mike doesn’t write too large or too small, indicating a balanced ability to be social and interact with others.

Mike will demand respect and will expect others to treat him with honor and dignity. Mike believes in his ideas and will expect other people to also respect them. He has a lot of pride.

Mike will be candid and direct when expressing his opinion. He will tell them what he thinks if they ask for it, whether they like it or not. So, if they don’t really want his opinion, don’t ask for it!

Mike has a desire for attention. People around Mike will notice this need. He may fulfill this need by a variety of ways depending on his own character.

In reference to Mike’s mental abilities, he has a very investigating and creating mind. He investigates projects rapidly because he is curious about many things. He gets involved in many projects that seem good at the beginning, but he soon must slow down and look at all the angles. He probably gets too many things going at once. When Mike slows down, then he becomes more creative than before. Since it takes time to be creative, he must slow down to do it. He then decides what projects he has time to finish. Thus he finishes at a slower pace than when he started the project.

He has the best of two kinds of minds. One is the quick investigating mind. The other is the creative mind. His mind thinks quick and rapidly in the investigative mode. He can learn quicker, investigate more, and think faster. Mike can then switch into his low gear. When he is in the slower mode, he can be creative, remember longer and stack facts in a logical manner. He is more logical this way and can climb mental mountains with a much better grip.

Mike is a practical person whose goals are planned, practical, and down to earth. This is typical of people with normal healthy self-esteem. He needs to visualize the end of a project before he starts. he finds joy in anticipation and planning. Notice that I said he plans everything he is going to do, that doesn’t necessarily mean things go as planned. Mike basically feels good about himself. He has a positive self-esteem which contributes to his success. He feels he has the ability to achieve anything he sets his mind to. However, he sets his goals using practicality– not too “out of reach”. He has enough self-confidence to leave a bad situation, yet, he will not take great risks, as they relate to his goals. A good esteem is one key to a happy life. Although there is room for improvement in the confidence category, his self-perception is better than average.

Mike is constantly disappointed when trying to reach success. He works very hard, perhaps harder than most, then just before succeeding, something happens that keeps him from success. Often, Mike changes to a second project just before the first one is finished, thus failing to complete the first project. Sometimes he changes because he feels he needs a different challenge. Mike feels dejected. This feeling relates to his failures. This trait is very important in a working situation and in a relationship. He must be handled in a very special way to get the most work from him or to make a relationship last. Concerning this trait, personality modification is available to change his life.

For a graphologist, the spacing on the page reflects the writer’s attitude toward their own world and relationship to things in his or her own space. If the inputted data was correct Mike has left lots of white space on the left side of the paper. Mike fills up the rest of the page in a normal fashion. If this is true, then Mike has a healthy relationship to the past and is ready to move on. The right side of the page represents the future and Mike is ready and willing to get started living now and planning for the future. Mike would like to leave the past behind and move on.

People! Get You Priorities Staight!

Posted by mikenopolis on November 5, 2008

It has been reported that the California proposition 8 to eliminate rights for same sex marriage cost over $74 million in campaigning for both sides. What makes me sad is that there has been a recent medical break through where researchers was able to map and decode the cancer DNA genome. Take a look at the following quotes in regards to the two subjects (click to see full article)…what’s wrong with this picture?

“…Proposition 8 was the most expensive proposition on any ballot in the nation this year, with more than $74 million spent by both sides.” – Chicago Tribune

“…But researchers won’t need to map every patient’s genome, says Ley, who adds that sequencing this patient’s genes cost $1.6 million.” – USA Today

A New Day…Is This Modern Evolution

Posted by mikenopolis on November 5, 2008

For years I’ve believe evolution has slowed or possibly even stopped because of the change in the world. We’ve replace so many natural possibilities with technology, who knows, maybe if light bulbs were never invented we would be able to see in the dark or have echolocation like bats! We could’ve been GREAT (like the characters in the HEROES TV Show)! Now we are advanced but still just normal pieces of meat and bones.

I’m not saying who I voted for in the 2008 Presidential election, but I do feel that senator Barack Obama’s (President-Elect) victory is a new step for America not because of his political viewpoints or what he stands for, but strictly because of the color of his skin. I did not think he had a chance. I did not think the United State’s citizens were ready for a president who would’ve been a slave here 200 years ago. I thought racism would’ve won. For all those who proved me wrong. I thank you on behalf of the human race, this brought tears to my eyes, this moment in history is definitely a step in evolution for us as Americans.

Ok, now that we got the race thing taken care of, let me rant! I understand that you people love President-Elect Obama, but what’s with the celebration and cheering. I think a simple congratulations and thank you would be enough. I may not know too much politics, but seriously, the guy could say anything he wants to in his campaign and do something entirely different when he’s in office, he could say “5% decrease on sales taxes” and then come to realize that it is just not possible when he open the books. Lets cheer when he’s re-elected because he did a great job (in the next 4 years). He really hasn’t done anything for us yet.

Proposition 8 was a total bust, majority of the people at my work are Yes on Prop 8 supporters, they were so happy this morning. I voted NO to prop. 8. The proposition is clearly stated as “Eliminates Rights of Same Sex Couples to Marry”. What give us the ability to eliminate rights? Gay marriages doesn’t affect you or your children, it can’t make your kids gay. What are you people so afraid of? Their campaign says they don’t want their children to learn that same-sex marriages can occur. As if that will change anything! If you want to eliminate right, you should eliminate the rights to create stupid movies and shows like Glitter and The Hills. If anything is killing the minds of our future leaders, it’s the people in the entertainment industry. You want to be good to your children, then stop telling telling them fairy tales, there is no tooth fairy, there’s no Santa!

Prop 8 supporters,  you say you don’t hate gays, that you want to protect the sanctity of marriage. Do you know anything about this thing call lying, cheating, affairs, and divorces. You want to help the children? What about stupid people getting married and having children when they can’t even financially support themselves. Why do I know full grown adults that work at McDonald’s with a stay at home wife and 3 kids? You want to help the children, close down search engines. Do you know easy it is to find porn these days?

You are all hypocrites! There’s no sanctity or real commitment in a marriage as long as divorces are legal.

The divorce rate in America for first marriage, vs second or third marriage
50% percent of first marriages, 67% of second and 74% of third marriages end in divorce, according to Jennifer Baker of the Forest Institute of Professional Psychology in Springfield, Missouri.”
